on the middle of May, she requested me to make a saucer for the coffee dripper
and some lotus root chopstick rests.
She told me that she always put the coffee dripper on the kitchen counter
or sink directly after use, so she's been thinking of the saucer for it.
She asked just a saucer, but I like to make the coffee dripper as well
so they're gonna match.
日本に住むお友達がコーヒードリッパーを置くお皿とれんこんの箸置きを
作って欲しいとリクエストがありました。
彼女、コーヒーをドリッパーで入れた後、置く場所に困り、いつもキッチンカウンターや
シンクに直接置いてしまっていて、ドリッパーを置くお皿を考えていたそうです。
お皿だけのリクエストでしたが、せっかくなのでコーヒードリッパーも作りました。
その方が色合いが合うしね。

I've been making the coffee dripper from last year with this kind of handle.
It's very balanced to hold since the handle covers from top to bottom.
There is another type of handle, but I'm gonna mention next time.
去年からこの持ち手の形でコーヒードリッパーを作っています。
この持ち手だと上から下まで支えているので、持った時にバランスがいい。
また違う形の持ち手もありますが、それはまた次回に。
And, these are lotus root chopstick rests.
She requested 6 of them, so I made 2 different kinds of glazes.
They are all different shapes.
そしてこちらがレンコン箸置き。
6個のリクエストだったので2種類の違う釉薬で作ってみました。
形はすべて違います。

By the way, I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow morning, and will stay there for 2 weeks.
I have a lot of my pottery pieces to carry, that's really heavy.
